Dust can transform herself into an explosive cloud of sand-like silicon particles and maintain control of her sand form (for instance scouring the flesh from her enemies' bones like a sandstorm, shredding steel or forming a human-shaped body), before reforming at will. However, telekinetic or similarly powered beings can, if powerful enough, take control of her sand particles. According to Jean Grey and Professor X, her dust form makes her difficult to detect telepathically and somewhat resistant to magic. Her sand form is also vulnerable to extremes of heat, causing it to crystallise into glass, paralysing her. Like many transmorphs, she reverts back to her human form if exhausted or knocked unconscious.

Personality-wise, Raya is as close to neutral as it is possible to be, usually soft-spoken and quiet when she does speak, but her temper is at times short especially in relation to mutant issues or those of Middle Eastern peoples. She wears a head veil covering her hair and lower face at this juncture. She's usually dressed fairly conservatively in Western clothes, most usually long pants or jeans and a modest top that will always cover her to at least the elbow. For Milliways: I know Sooraya is always depicted in the comics as wearing an abaya. I'm not sure whether to concretely state that she does or does not in the bar yet, given the political and social upheaval the Middle East region is currently enduring. So, um...bear with me for a bit as I determine what I want to play to? This section will be edited as I get more comfortable with her in-game.
